Olives II

The olive picking continues!
The result of the previous two days of harvesting, after a 17 euro cost at the local olive squeezing and bottling facility, was over 30 litres of extra virgin oil - with a free acidity level of 0,3%.

I've learned that the area that we're picking from is an old olive grove that's been abandoned for around 15 years, that the current owner has given the project permission to freely unburden the branches of their fruits, and in return we do a bit of maintenance. The trees have grown wild and tall, cutting them will hopefully help the future growth and increase the picking accessibility. One thing I've noticed with olive wood is its ability to break rather suddenly, making me prone to prefer the reliability of the ground over the thinning boughs.

Also, Anastasia built a big pile out of the picked olive branches. We discussed the pile scale for a moment - what kind of pile material might have what kind of effects on the body, etcetera. Whereafter she went on to pratice pile jumping.
