Welcome Winter

Today winter officially arrived in Greece. Last week we were picking olives under a beaming sun and with 20 degrees in the shade. Today the rain has been falling since morning, we lit the stove midday to get the temprature above those 7 degrees that were offrered outside.
It's been a cozy, contemplative afternoon. Spyros made me a bowl of buckwheat, and Anastasia read to me from her Fig Season Journal, recounting the best fig memories of the year. Anastasia loves figs, she estimates that she eats one hundred figs a day, she has an album with her favourite fig pictures. I love to listen to Anastasia's fig stories.

Also the slower pace of colder days has left good time for reading, listening to podcasts, watching documentaries, writing and reflecting. The warmth of the stove and the rain upon the tin roof makes pleasant company.
Happy Winter Solstice to you all!
